.. APPEARANCE
A Xaela with a slim, androgynous build with a height slightly taller than the average female au ra yet nowhere near that of the shortest male au ra. Their thick, overgrown tail is nearly half their weight yet their balance and speed would make one think its completely weightless. They can often be seen with an eyepatch covering their left eye, but can be seen wearing one over the right in less public spaces. While their left eye isn't odd on the surface compared to the variety of eyes colors and shape au ra are capable of having something about it feels off. You can't help but feel a cold chill down your spine one you look at it and it gazes back you in an unnatural motion.
.. PERSONALITY
Matar has an aloof, sullen personality, but this is less out of ill intent and more so out of disinterest for others. For this au ra to show interest is much more alarming, as their interest often amounts to mischief at best and sadism at worst. While they are by no means manipulative, they find joy in the suffering of others - specifically those who come off as overconfident, condescending, or even purely righteous. As a result Matar comes off as capricious and unpredictable, depending on who they're interacting with they can shift from a apathetic, irritable tone to a more feverish one. Stranger still they're easily flustered and has a soft spot for cute things, often even refusing to harm those they deem innocent be it children or small beasts.
.. PROFESSION
This Au Ra is many things - a hunter to some, assassin to others, but Matar thinks of themselves as an artist more than anything but specifically a sculptor. Blade as their chisel and prey as their subject to carve as they wish, to Matar to kill is an art both figuratively and literally. It's not about the killing itself even, but the emotions of the victim as their life is chiseled down to nothing and the process of Matar forging that effigy. As a result Matar enjoys mortal, intelligent targets over beasts, but like anyone the bills must be paid so a voidsent slain every now and then is fair. Even when its just business the thrill of the hunt can be enjoyable.

.. Xaela Tribes
Matar is a rare sort, their mother a Dotharl warrior and their father a Kha traveling merchant. Born out of necessity for the Dotharl's lack of numbers they were raised with them originally until their mother perished in a scuffle with another tribe and Matar lived with their father for several years to follow. In spite of this upbringing Matar considers themselves more of a Kha and has little faith in the Dotharl's beliefs if anything has disdain for them, along with much of Steppe culture in general.
.. Cursed Gaze
At some point during their adolescence Matar ended up forging a pact with a voidsent, an ahriman known as Mephistopheles. This was more akin to a curse however, as the voidsent took residence in Matar's left eye, altering its color to match. The gaze of this eye caused those of weaker mental fortitude to be filled with fear and suffer a powerful, nearly permanent petrification spell. This resulted in the loss of several tribe members at the time and Matar was reviled by the remaining tribe, nearly being exiled if not for their father and an eyepatch to conceal the eye. These days Matar has control over said eye so on rare occasions its unconcealed, but it remains an unsettling point of conversation nonetheless.
.. Sculpting
Despite being initially terrified, Matar found beauty in the statues they made. Compared to the bloody, miserable deaths witnessed throughout the Steppe these were a mercy and a blessing - this ability was a gift and they will use it to their heart's content.
.. Reaping
These days Matar tends to take commissions and contracts from unscrupulous sorts to pursue their art. Be it out of vengeance, twisted love, financial gain, or just to make disappearing someone easier, there are many reasons to seek out Matar for their unique skill.
.. Sewing
What Matar is doing is essentially murder however, and while their name and deeds are primarily kept under the table the occasional do gooder comes knocking. Most are added to the collection, others manage to escape albeit with a petrified limb, and fewer still manage to send Matar running.Even their crimes aside, they wreak of the void, making their very existence a taboo in some places.
.. Faith
Matar does not follow the faith of the Dotharl nor do they put much stock in the Xaela's twin deities. To Matar their pact with the dreaded Ahriman bound to their eye is a blessing that outweighs anything witnessed in the Steppe, thus to them voidsent are the closest thing to Gods from their perspective. While they are wicked and malevolent they are real, far from mortal, and answer when called. All other mythical figures of worship pale in comparison. Though Matar doesn't necessarily worship voidsent, but is certainly a bit of a fanatic when it comes to them and the void.
Like Matar I am also trans/nonbinary (they/she pronouns) so any transphobia or homophobia is unacceptable when interacting with me
I'm interested in mature RP that may broach some darker subject matters so it would be recommended that interested parties be 18+ at the very least
Matar can be a bit mean at times, but try not to say anything personally and let me know if I breach boundaries. Me and Matar are not the same and I try my best to be nice OOC.
Unfortunately I'm very anxious and introverted so I may be shy about RPing especially when I haven't really dipped my toes into it. This page is mainly just to talk about my lovely lizard and show off comms. Apologies and be patient with me!
While I don't feel comfortable linking my socials here cause of reasons you're free to ask me or if you're up for the challenge do the detective work to find me otherwise (it's not that hard).
